Most societies revolve around being prompt, which makes nothing more important than the watch battery. The watch battery is such a big part of our lives that it now has its own analogy. For instance, if a child's incessant cries refuse to stop, someone might say that the child must be running on a watch battery. There are many different type of watch batteries, and there are a few things to know before purchasing a new watch battery.

The first question that comes to mind is, "How often does the battery need to be changed?" Truth is, it depends on the brand of watch battery. A quick overview of three popular types of watch batteries will help consumers be more informed. After all, everyone hates having a watch suddenly die, leaving them unaware of the time.

Fossil watch batteries are easy to replace, especially since they should only be changed by professionals. A Fossil watch battery can be changed by simply taking the watch into a Fossil store or a jeweler. But for other kinds of watches, the consumer needs to find the watch battery for himself or herself.

One of the most popular kinds of watches is Casio. As a result, Casio watch batteries are available at various places online. Perhaps the best website to buy them is Watch Batteries. They have a large selection and watch batteries can be bought in multi-packs. A Casio watch battery is typically made from Lithium. Lithium batteries last almost twice as long as nickel counterparts and aren't as harmful to the environment when they are discarded. However, the best thing about a Casio watch battery is that it can last for up to ten years.

Not as durable as Casio watch batteries, Citizen watch batteries need to be changed every two years. A dead battery can leak fluid that will damage the watch. As a result, a Citizen watch battery should be changed on a regular basis to ensure that the integrity of the  watch is not compromised. Replacement batteries typically cost around $3, and are available at websites such as Watch Batteries, Apex, and others. Pay careful attention to the numbers on both the watch and the watch battery, and make sure they are identical. Otherwise, there will be problem, as each watch battery is designed for a specific kind of watch. If the numbers are not the same, the watch battery will not fit or work properly.

Finally, there are Timex watch batteries. These watch batteries cost $3, are specifically designed for certain models, and should not be interchanged. A great perk is that Timex offers a Lifetime Battery Card that can be purchased for only $7. This card allows customers to receive free batteries for a watch, provided the card and watch are purchased at the same time.

Taking a few minutes every few years to keep a watch going is an easy way to save a few dollars. Buying replacement watch batteries is much cheaper than consistently buying new watches. Invest in a quality watch that runs a reliable battery and always be on time.
